We enjoyed another of our traditional events – the summer walk – on Saturday 20th amongst a large gathering. The place chosen this time was the Heritage walk – a leafy and pleasing area to spend a day outing – in Baulkham Hills.

The annual PUAAN walk is getting more and more popular with an outstanding number of attendees this time. We had a choice of two walks – the long walk offering a good 10,000 steps or the short one that offered a comfortable stroll to those not bent on achieving the Heart Foundation target. The friendship and picturesque scenery along the way made everyone feel relaxed and not exhausted.

This was followed by a sing-song, in a relaxing area of the park, with music led by ‘Honorary PUAAN Member’ Cicil Fonseka accompanied by our own Lucky Randeniya on the tabla. All participants had a “jolly good” time singing and dancing. It was great fun.

The main part of the event was a delicious sausage sizzle, prepared by our own BBQ expert, past president “Wicks” along with lots of accompaniments.

Thanks to all participants for contributing in more than one way to make the event memorable. Most of all the friendship and camaraderie generated is greatly valued.

President, PUAAN

  1. This is a good healthy decision to make these “Walk Events” and all Sri Lankans in various associations and groups must initiate such walks. Walking is the best panacea for health and wellbeing. You can reverse your diabetes, improve your blood pressure, fewer chances of getting cancer due to the boost on the immune system, among others. Congrats PUAAN
